I was contacted in the summer 2016 by a lady in Steeple Claydon, Bucks. She was looking to update a maple kitchen and wanted to know if it was possible. Her concerns were durability and also wether the maple cabinets could be painted! I explained the process and furthermore what products I use and how they perform in terms of durability. The clients mind was especially put to rest and a price and date was agreed. Kitchen cabinet painter Steeple Claydon

This particular project, like many that I do was also to be finished in my workshop. This firstly means a minimum amount of disruption to the client and secondly the kitchen can be used as normal. No cupboards needed to be emptied, however, drawers need to be cleared as they are removed from the cabinet.

All the fixed items like frames, end panels and also open cabinets are painted insitu. This particular kitchen I removed the sliding tambour door and in addition made good for painting. The reason behind this was that the door mechanism had failed and the client no longer liked that look.Kitchen cabinet painter Steeple Claydon

The photo above shows the trims. decor panels and pelmets being painted insitu. I put down romoval blankets in this instance to protect the tops and items that were on the surfaces too.

Minimising diruption

This method is really popular as it means the minimum amount of disruption to a working kitchen. It also means that cabinets can be left as they are without removing anything, again leaa disruption to the homeowner.

The doors and drawers were completed in the workshop. They were cleaned down and sanded ready for the adhesion primer. This particular kitchen was finished using a 10% sheen (Helmi 10). A fantastic finishing that gives a beautiful sheen and a great durable finish. Kitchen cabinet painter Steeple Claydon

Handles to be fitted later!

The handles were on order and would be fitted at a later date. All existing holes were filled and new holes drilled for the new knobs.

On completion, the client was thrilled with the new look kitchen. A great kitchen now with a fresh new look in a colour similar to Pavillon Grey. Clean looking and fresh in this fantastic family room. Kitchen cabinet painter Steeple Claydon
