This piece of furniture was completed back in 2012 for a client in Marston St Lawrence.

The project was carried out for Mark Wilkinson furniture and had restrictions and timeframes that had to be met as there was an event being held at the property.

This meant working unsocial hours and over 1 weekend to compete the project.

Challenges!

One of the challenges on this particular project was the clients dogs! After each day I used to vacuum any remnants of dust that was left. Good practice in keeping the clients property clean and to avoid the spread of dust. However, the dogs took a particular dislike to the Festool vacuum hose. One of the dogs bit into the hose and would not let go. It was hilarious trying to get this dog of the hose, but it was not budging! Eventually, the client called it away and explained the the dogs hated hoovers in general.

No harm done other than several puncture wounds in the hose. I still use the same hoover today, which is testament to the longevity of these Festool hoovers. Mark Wilkinson Furniture

Another challenge was the fitting of the custom made worktop. I was on site to help with the fitting, which involved scribing it to the wall. A masking tap line was applied to the back of the top and then the scribe line could be marked. A new blade was fitted to the jigsaw and the cut line was of course perfect. A thin bead of caulk was applied and the wall colour was lightly brushed over the caulk. You would certainly be hard pushed to find a better join. Kitchen cabinet painter Marston St Lawrence

Etruscan!

The product used was Mark Wilkinson furniture paint in one of their custom colours. The handles where silver glass which were also from the Etruscan range of furniture and matched the Etruscan kitchen in the clients home. The pictures show the detail and finish of this stunning bespoke piece of furniture. Kitchen cabinet painter Marston St Lawrence
